Rural King Monticello in southern Wisconsin is in serious need of a big-time renovation, and the owners have been looking for a solution.
In a video released today by the local group, King Monticesllo, they say it’s time for a complete transformation.
The building has been vacant for more than 20 years.
It was once home to the Royal Wisconsin Band and was home to a former mayor who is now serving a prison sentence.
Now, the building is a hotel and is owned by the Milwaukee County Assessor’s office.
It’s currently listed at $1.25 million.
In order to renovate the castle, the owners need a substantial grant from the state.
To get the money, the castle must be demolished and replaced with a new structure that will also include a hotel.
The group said the project will take up to 18 months.
